Northern Flicker

This Northern Flicker has become a frequent visitor to our Lucite bird feeder which is suction cupped to the outside of our dining room window. He has recently discovered he fits INSIDE and has come to think of this as his home.

Doggie Seizures

Gosh, there have been few things in my life more terrifying than witnessing our sweet Golden Retriever, Chloe, having a Grand Mal seizure. Last night was her 3rd one since we adopted her, last December. Unfortunately, her vet records show past seizures so we are deeply saddened that her previous owners weren't completely honest with us. However, we love Chloe like crazy and plan to do everything we can to improve her life and her health. We couldn't be happier with an outstanding veterinarian and a wonderful emergency veterinarian hospital nearby.

Who knew? My brother is coming home to visit for a weekend with his girlfriend Jacqui. We couldn't be more excited! :) Unfortunately, Toggle (the worlds BEST dog) will be left behind in AZ - presumably in the care of friends/neighbors.

Sensual Sounds of Speed

Yep, the husband went to Elkhart Lake on Friday and captured lots of flip video of cars zipping around the track.  This clip was his FAVORITE sound of all!

7:30 a.m. vet appointment, 9:00 a.m. arrival at work, so much to do and no desire to do it. It was one of those days *sigh*.

Craft du jour: I helped a co-worker create her son's birthday invitations. The theme is Horton Hears a Who. :o)

Tonight upon arriving home the temperature was "warm", well, warmer than lately anyway. (40+ degrees...practically Spring like. lol.) So, Chloe and I hopped in the car and went to mom & dad's for a little exercise and play time with Timber. Mom and I chopped some ice off the back patio, took the dogs for a short walk 'around the block' 5:30ish Chloe and I left to go collect a vacationing friend's mail and then home. Chloe's been tuckered out ever since.

Well, its time to work on designing a card for the upcoming Stampin' Up! Milwaukee Regional Conference in April. I've been told its common to make over 100 cards to swap. Yikes, and I don't even have the design figured out yet!

Today was a craft day. I accepted the challenge of creating invitations and other party delights for a 5 year old's birthday party. The theme: Teddy Bear Tea Party. Today I created the invitations, 10 of them, and an 11th for my portfolio. 11 little teddy bears are now all "ribboned" up with tea party charms dangling from the ribbon tail. Little felt posies with irredescent sequins adorn the ribbon knot and they're all ready to be placed in tea cup stamped cellophane treat bags. I've printed some coloring pages for a party activity along with a pin the heart on the Teddy game. My last task is to locate an paint white porcelain tea cups for each little attendee. My little birthday princess has taken to scrapbooking with mom, so a little 8x8 scrapbook is in the bag as an early gift. I can't wait to deliver the happy package. Keep your fingers crossed that I find those silly tea cups...and, soon!

Tomorrow is an organizing day at mom & dad's. Mom requested such a day last weekend when we were in her craft room (my old bedroom) and she couldn't put her hands on a card she was looking for. Now, I consider my mom one of the most organized people I know, and I'm convinced I got all my organizing (and craft) know how from her. Irregardless, I will arrive armed with clear shoeboxes and a label maker tomorrow morning to "work" on mom's craft room.

Monday is supposed to be my rescheduled birthday card workshop from last week Monday. Now, my DH (darling husband) tells me that this Monday's weather prediction is not in favor for a well attended card workshop, again. I hate to sound like a quitter, but this one doesn't feel destined to happen. All I can say, is that I should be Uber prepared with all this time between workshops. (but, we all know that's not how it happens) :o)
Time for some sleep so I'm bright-eyed and ready to organize in the morning. nighty night all.

A little bit about ME

Hello! Yes, finally, I have joined the rest of the universe and set up a blog. I hope to find time to update this on a very regular basis.

I'll start with just a little bit about me: My name is Anne and I am a middle aged wife of a fabulous husband who tolerates my craft obsession/addiction. Currently, I am a F/T employee of a technology company, where I create client training in various media formats. I have always enjoyed discovering my creative strengths and have finally found a job that I just adore. Everyday is different, challenging, and usually rewarding.

Recently married (at 40) has proven to be quite fantastic...since we do not have any children we recently adopted a 5year old golden retriever named Chloe. WOW! What a FABULOUS dog. We couldn't have asked for anything better. She came fully trained and eager to please her new 'parents'. Chloe was initially shy of other dogs, but since her adoption, she has taken to her new 'cousins' Timber and Lucy (also golden retrievers.) She is exactly what we were missing, and we are so glad to have her in our lives.

My parents and sister (+ family) live in the same town. My brother lives in Phoenix, AZ. Judging from the endless mounds of snow this winter...my brother is truly the bright one in the group! My husband's family lives 30-45 minutes away, and we typically get together with them for weddings, baptisms, holidays, and other special events. Life is short and family is so important -- I'm hoping this year we will be able to get together more often.

Well, that's it for details about ME. Stay tuned for future updates about...all kinds of stuff. :) And, remember to do something creative everyday!
